Trophy Safaris Africa has 2 outstanding locations for your safari in Zimbabwe.
The first area is the Chewore North area which is situated in the Lower Zambezi
Valley of Zimbabwe and is bounded by the Zambezi River (border with Zambia), the
Sapi Safari area and Dande Communal Area. It is approximately 375,000 HA
(1 million acres) in extent and is divided into 2 areas (North & South).
The Chewore North is an area of beautiful but rugged terrain with mountains and
alleys with several sand rivers running through the area. The bush varies
from very thick jesse type thickets to dense riverrine as well as Mopane
woodland and grassy hills. There are a number of beautiful sandstone
cliffs and prehistoric features such as the Tunsa Hot Springs as well as fossil
forests. The area is home to a variety of animal species such as:
Elephant, Buffalo, Lion and Leopard as well as Hippo and Crocodile, Waterbuck,
Sable, Eland, Kudu, Zebra, Nyala, Bushbuck, Impala, Warthog, Bushpig,
Klipspringer, Duiker, Grysbok, Baboons and Hyenas. Tsetse flies and
mosquitoes are prevalent. There are no villages or human settlement in
this area. The terrain allows for hunting on foot, as there are vast
tracts of undeveloped land without roads. This makes for interesting hikes
tracking Buffalo and Elephant. The area is controlled by National Parks &
Wildlife as a safari area. Hunting cats is over bait but use of spotlights
is prohibited. A government scout accompanies all hunts. Use of
boats on the Zambezi River is also possible for species such as Crocodile and
Hippo.
The second area is Senuko Camp which is located in the
famous Save Valley Conservancy that is situated in southeast Zimbabwe near the
town of Chiredzi. The area was formerly a cattle area that was converted
into a wildlife sanctuary extending over 1 million acres. This area is
home to the Big Five as well as a range of plains game species. The
terrain is relatively flat scattered with granite outcrops and hills.
These hills are perfect habitat for Leopard as well as Klipspringer and a huge
variety of raptors.
