AIRLINE INFORMATION

Airline transportation to South Africa is not included with any of our safaris.  Your local travel agent can assist you with these arrangements, however some of them are not familiar with Southern Africa and traveling with your hunting rifles.  If you are looking for an agent that has experience in this field, there are two that we highly recommend.

ESPLANADE TOURS

ESPLANADE TOURS in Boston, Massachusetts.  They have been an established tour company since 1954 and have not only the experience to provide your air travel, but can also assist you with other helpful information, such as information on the area you'll be visiting, health, firearm transportation and insurance related facts and more.  Call Jill (their African specialist) toll free at 800-628-4893 or visit their web site at www.esplanadetours.com for detailed information.

CUSTOM TRAVEL LTD.

Custom Travel LTD in Greenfield, WI.  They have not only the experience to provide your air travel, but can also assist you with other helpful information, such as information on the area you'll be visiting, health, firearm transportation and insurance related facts and more.  Call them toll free at 800-728-5301 or visit their web site at www.customtravelafrica.com for detailed information.

SOUTH AFRICAN AIRWAYS

You can visit South African Airways web site at http://www.flysaa.com/saa_home.html for flight schedules and information.

TRANSPORTATION

South Africa is geared towards travel by air and road with an extensive network of well-maintained paved roads and many domestic, as well as private charter airline services.

Any valid drivers license is accepted in South Africa, provided it bears the photograph and signature of the holder and is printed in English.  Contrary to driving in the U.S., driving in South Africa is done on the left.

There are three International Airports in South Africa; Johannesburg, Cape Town and Durban.  Durban will be your final destination in South Africa, where you will be meet by a representative of Trophy Safaris Africa.  About 50 airlines provide service to and from South Africa though, as we mentioned, South African Airways is the National carrier.
