Tala is a private game reserve and wildlife sanctuary located in an area called Tala Valley positioned about half way between our KwaZulu Natal safari hunting camp and the city of Durban. This valley is a section of the Mlazi River system and Tala Game Reserve comprises 7,500 acres containing a variety of productive habitats. This includes dams, a river, riparian thicket, thornveld, mixed woodland and grassland. Tala’s mix of acacia Thornveld, open grassland and sensitive wetland makes for exceptional game viewing and birding watching, and sets the stage for magnificent photographs.
At Tala Game Reserve you will see a wide variety of African game including Rhino, Kudu, Hippo, Giraffe, Sable, Nyala and many other antelope species. The reserve is also home to well over 300 bird species as well as several distinctive and remarkable plant species including the Fiery Aloe, the imposing Euphorbia and the fragrant Wild Sage.
Centrally located in the reserve is a stunningly beautiful picnic area where we will take a break during the game drive and enjoy a tastefully prepared picnic lunch. After a relaxing lunch we will continue with our game drive making this day trip a very memorable African experience.
